Hundreds of remaining residents in barangays within the seven-kilometer danger zone of Taal Volcano were finally rescued by authorities after the local government of Agoncillo, Batangas, ordered another forced evacuation.
Residents from Barangay Bilibinwang and Banyaga were transferred to five different evacuation centers in Agoncillo town. Some residents who were left out during the initial evacuation were also rescued.
In the evacuation center, the Department of Health set up a booth for the medical needs of the evacuees. The Philippine Red Cross also set up booths with first aid kits.
Batangas Varsitarian-Agoncillo Chapter, a nongovernmental organization, also provided free breakfast for the evacuees. – Rappler.com
