Governor Fredenil 'Oto' Castro has been standing on the podium for more than two hours, delivering his accomplishment report

CAPIZ, Philippines – Capiz Governor Fredenil “Oto” Castro collapsed while he was delivering his First 100 Days accomplishment report before the Sangguniang Panlalawigan at the provincial capitol in Roxas City on Monday, October 10.

The governor had been standing on the podium, delivering his report for more than two hours when he suddenly fell.

Officials at the session hall immediately helped Castro out.

Castro’s spokesperson Luvim Amores, in an interview with Bombo Radyo Roxas, said the governor felt tired after standing for hours, and when he tried to move his feet, he slipped, causing him to fall.

Amores said that after the incident the governor was checked by a doctor. He was fine and had no injury.

After resting, Castro continued to deliver his accomplishment report, but this time, he was already sitting down.

The governor is still recovering after having a pinched nerve in his lower back or sciatica, which made it difficult for him to walk, Bombo Radyo said. –Rappler.com
