Cloudy skies for parts of Luzon on Saturday

MANILA, Philippines – Parts of Luzon will experience cloudy skies on Saturday, July 25, according to state weather bureau PAGASA. 

As of 4 pm Friday, July 24, the eye of Typhoon Goring was located at 1,095 km northeast of Basco, Batanes. It has maximum sustained winds of 140 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 170 km/h, moving west in direction at 15 km/h.

PAGASA earlier said the typhoon will have no direct effect on the country. Meanwhile, the low pressure is now at 270 km east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. 

Cagayan Valley and the provinces of Apayao, and Ilocos Norte will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms in the next 24 hours. 

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms.

Coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate as light to moderate winds blow from the southwest over Luzon, and from the south to southwest over the rest of the country.
