MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATED as of 7:21 pm) Classes have been suspended Thursday, August 9, by local government units and several universities and colleges due to continuing rain affecting Metro Manila and some parts of Northern Luzon.

(UPDATE: Palace: No classes in flood-hit areas Thursday)

Based on information from the Department of Education (DepEd), local government units, and various schools, classes in the following cities have been cancelled:

  5. San Juan City
  6. Makati City
  7. Antipolo City
  8. Marikina
  9. Pasay (until Friday, Aug 10)

  12. Paranaque City 
  13. Caloocan City 
  14. Pasig 
  15. Muntinlupa
  16. Taguig
