Stormy weather for Northern Luzon on Thursday

MANILA, Philippines – Typhoon Ineng (international name Goni) will bring stormy weather to Northern Luzon while the Southwest Monsoon will bring occasional rains in Palawan and Visayas on Thursday, August 20.

Stormy weather with very rough seas can be expected in Batanes and Cagayan, both of which are under Storm Signal No 2, according to the weather forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The provinces of Apayao and Isabela should brace for rains and gusty winds.

The entire region of Visayas and the province of Palawan in Luzon are likely to experience occasional rains due to the monsoon.

The following areas in Luzon can expect only light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms:

Metro Manila
Ilocos region
Central Luzon
Rest of Cordillera
Quirino
Nueva Vizcaya
Mindoro
Batangas
Cavite

The rest of the country is likely to experience only isolated thunderstorms and partly cloudy to cloudy skies, said PAGASA.

Moderate to strong winds will prevail in the entire country on Thursday. Thus, ocean waters all over the country will be moderate to rough.
