MANILA, Philippines (4th UPDATE) – Typhoon Ineng (international name Goni) has slightly weakened and is now 105 km east-northeast of Basco, Batanes according to state weather bureau PAGASA said in its 5:00 pm bulletin.
Ineng now has maximum sustained winds of 150 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 185 km/h.
The typhoon is forecast to move north northeast at a rate of 13 km/h.
PAGASA raised the following storm signals as of 5:00 pm:
Signal No. 3
Batanes group of islands
Signal No. 2
Northern Cagayan, including Calayan and Babuyan Group of Islands
Signal No. 1
Rest of Calayan, Ilocos Norte, Kalinga and Abra
PAGASA warned of possible flashfloods and landslides in low lying and mountainous areas under all storm signals.
Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 500-km diameter of the typhoon, with enhanced “Habagat“ bringing monsoon rains over Metro Manila. – Rappler.com
