MANILA, Philippines – While tropical storm Helen has left the Philippines, western Luzon will feel the effects of the southwest monsoon, the state weather bureau said Friday, August 17.
In its 24-hour weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon will therefore experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The weather in other parts of the country, meanwhile, will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, PAGASA said.
Moderate to strong winds will prevail in the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon, it added. The coastal waters in these areas will be moderate to rough. In other parts of the Philippines, winds will be light to moderate coming from the southeast to south with slight to moderate seas.
Sunrise was at 5:42 a.m. while sunset will be at 6:18 p.m.
Below is PAGASA’s full 24-hour weather forecast for Friday, as well as an extended weather outlook for selected cities.
