
MANILA, Philippines – Not one, but two cyclones are currently inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
State weather bureau PAGASA said Tropical Depression Onyok entered PAR 1:45 pm on Wednesday, December 16, joining Severe Tropical Storm Nona.
In its bulletin issued 5:30 pm on Wednesday, PAGASA said Onyok was last spotted 860 kilometers east of Mati City, Davao Oriental, moving west northwest at 20 kilometers per hour (km/h).
The tropical depression has maximum winds of 45 km/h, and the estimated rainfall amount is moderate to heavy within its 75-kilometer diameter.
Its latest forecast track shows Onyok moving toward the eastern section of Mindanao.
It will then make landfall over the Caraga region on Friday, December 18.
Onyok is expected to leave PAR on Sunday, December 20. – Rappler.com
