MANILA, Philippines – Mindoro, Palawan, and Western Visayas will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms on Friday, September 16.
In its 5 pm bulletin on Thursday, September 15, state weather bureau PAGASA said the eye of Typhoon Gener (Malakas) is now at 615 km east of Tuguegarao City, with maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour (km/h) near the center and gustiness of up to 170 km/h.
It is moving west northwest in direction at 25 km/h.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds will blow from the southwest to west over Luzon, causing moderate to rough seas. Elsewhere, coastal waters will be slight to moderate as light to moderate winds blow from the southwest.
Meanwhile, the center of Tropical Storm Ferdie (Meranti) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility was located at 860 km northwest of Itbayat, Batanes, with maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h, and gustiness of up to 100 km/h. It is moving north at 20 km/h. – Rappler.com
