MANILA, Philippines – The southwest monsoon will bring rain to Northern Luzon and Central Luzon on Monday, October 10.

In its bulletin issued 5 pm on Sunday, October 9, state weather bureau PAGASA said light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are expected in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Ilocos, and Central Luzon.

The rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will have just isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

The southwest monsoon is still being enhanced by Tropical Storm Julian (Aere), which left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) last Thursday, October 6.

Even though Julian is already outside PAR, it is hardly moving 500 kilometers (km) west northwest of Basco, Batanes.

Meanwhile, PAGASA is also monitoring another tropical storm outside PAR. Its international name is Songda and it is 2,870 km east of Basco, Batanes. – Rappler.com
