MANILA, Philippines – Tropical depression Quinta continued to weaken and was downgraded into a low pressure area (LPA) on Thursday, December 27.

All public storm signal warnings have been lifted.

In its 11 am update, weather bureau PAGASA said that as of 10 am the LPA was located 220 km West of Puerto Princesa, Palawan (10.1°N, 116.6°E).

PAGASA still advised fishing boats and other small vessels to not venture out into the seaboards of Luzon and Visayas due to the combined effects of Quinta and the northeast monsoon or hanging amihan.

Quinta has so far killed 5 people after making landfall on Wednesday over Leyte. – Rappler.com
