Rainy Friday in some west PH provinces

MANILA, Philippines – Several provinces in the country's western seaboard will have a rainy Friday, September 27, as a new tropical depression forms in the West Philippine Sea (South China Sea).

The low pressure area hovering west of Luzon has been upgraded into a tropical depression and has been named Paolo, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

Paolo was located 230 kilometers west of Subic, Zambales (14.9ºN,117.9ºE) as of 4 pm Thursday, September 26, carrying maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h and moving west at 7 km/h.

Bataan, Zambales, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, and northern Palawan will have cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rain and thunderstorms, the bureau said.

PAGASA warned the rains could trigger flash floods and landslides in these areas.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rain is forecast in Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, Bicol, Calabarzon, Metro Manila, Ilocos, the Cordilleras, and the rest of Mimaropa and Central Luzon.

The remaining parts of the archipelago can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain.

Forecast temperatures will range from Baguio City's low of 15ºC, to the high 32ºC in Zamboanga, Davao, Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod, Laoag, and Tuguegarao.
