MANILA, Philippines – A low pressure area (LPA) has been spotted 170 kilometers west of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, the weather bureau Pagasa said on Thursday, July 4. It is embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Southern Luzon and Visayas.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms, the bureau said in its 24-hour forecast.

Visayas and Mindanao, on the other hand, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies accompanied by isolated rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening. 

Prevailing winds will come  from the east to southeast, and coastal waters will be slight to moderate, the bureau added.
