Rainy Tuesday as Isang moves toward north Luzon

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Large parts of the country will again have a rainy day Tuesday, July 16, as tropical depression Isang hovers east of Luzon.

Tropical depression Isang was spotted 300 km east of Infanta, Quezon (15.1°N, 124.6°E) as of 4 am Tuesday, carrying maximum winds of 45 km/h near the center. Storm signal number 1 is already in effect over 11 provinces in north Luzon.

Residents of Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, the Cordilleras, and the province of Aurora can expect rain and gusty winds, with moderate to rough seas due to Isang, PAGASA said in its 24-hour forecast.

Bicol will have cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, possibly triggering flash floods and landslides.

Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Central Luzon, Metro Manila and the Visayas will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain, while Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain.
