Rainy weather continues across central, south PH

MANILA, Philippines – The low pressure area in Mindanao will continue bringing rain Tuesday, January 14, while cooler temperatures will prevail across the Philipppines, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

As of 4 pm Monday, January 13, the LPA was located 45 kilometers east of Dipolog City, the bureau said in its 24-hour forecast.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, or the amihan, will continue affecting central and northern portions of Luzon.

Cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rain and thunderstorms can be expected in the Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga.

Residents of these areas should be mindful of the possibility of flash floods and landslides, the bureau said.

Mimaropa, Bicol, and the rest of Mindanao will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains, while the rest of Luzon will experience cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Cooler days and nights can be expected across the country. Baguio City and its surrounding areas can expect temperatures as low as 11ºC, the bureau said. Cool temperatures are also forecast for Tuguegarao (18ºC) and Tagaytay (19ºC).

Prevailing winds will come mainly from the northeast. There is currently no tropical cyclone within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
