MANILA, Philippines – A northeast monsoon affecting Luzon and a Low Pressure Area (LPA) some 250 km southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar will bring rain to quite a number of areas this Friday, January 17.
State weather service PAGASA reports that Eastern Visayas and the CARAGA region will have cloudy skies and moderate to occasionally heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rains may trigger flash flooding and landslides.
The rest of Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, and Zamboanga Peninsula will have cloudy skies, as well as light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Bicol region, Cagayan Valley, and Aurora provincewll be cloudy, though it will only be affected by light rains.
Metro Manila, along with the rest of Luzon, will be partly cloudy to cloudy and only have isolated light rains. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy and have isoldated rainshowers and thunderstorms.
Seafarers should take note of moderate to rough coastal waters throughout the archipelago. These are caused by moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast over Luzon and Visayas and from the northeast to northwest over Mindanao. – Rappler.com
