MANILA, Philippines – The entire country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies on Thursday, March 27, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

In its 5 pm bulletin on Wednesday, March 26, PAGASA said the country will also experience isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, particularly over the eastern section.

The eastern section will have moderate to occasionally rough waters as moderate to occasionally strong winds blow from the east. Elsewhere, the waters will be slight to moderate as light to moderate winds blow from the same direction.

PAGASA also announced Wednesday the termination of the northeast monsoon which ushers in the gradual increase of daily air temperature in most parts of the country.

This is due to the shifting of the wind direction from northeasterly to easterly caused by the northward migration  Siberian High Pressure Area and  the establishment of the Ridge of North Pacific High Pressure Area that extended to the north of the country.

“Weather conditions will be mostly hot and sunny associated with warm and humid air with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms, particularly, over the eastern section,” PAGASA acting administrator Vicente Malano said.

Coastal waters will be moderate to rough as strong easterly winds prevail over the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao.

PAGASA earlier predicted that temperatures will reach 35 degrees Celsius or more starting this week. (READ: Intense summer heat starts next week)
