MANILA, Philippines – It will be a cloudy Wednesday for Mindanao and parts of Visayas as Tropical Depression Domeng (international name Peipah) maintained its strength, state weather bureau PAGASA said. 

As of 10 pm Tuesday, April 8, PAGASA said the center of Domeng was at 410 km east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It has maximum sustained winds of 55 km per hour near the center, heading northwest at 5 km per hour.

Mindanao, Eastern Visayas and Central Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered light rainshowers and isolated thunderstorms on Wednesday.

Domeng is expected to be at 340 km east northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur by Wednesday evening, April 9, and at 270 km northeast of the municipality by Thursday evening, April 10.

By Friday evening, April 11, it will still be at 250 km north northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

PAGASA estimated moderate to heavy rainfall of 5 to 15 mm per hour within the 400 km diameter of the tropical depression.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

Coastal waters will be moderate to rough as moderate to strong winds blow from the northeast over the northern and eastern section of the country. Elsewhere, waters will be slight to moderate as light to moderate winds blow from the northeast to east.
