MANILA, Philippines – Tropical Depression Mario entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday morning, September 17, state weather bureau PAGASA said. 
Mario entered PAR between 10 am and 12 noon Wednesday, according to PAGASA.
As of 4 pm, the tropical depression was spotted at 740 km east of Borongan, Eastern Samar with maximum winds of 45 km per hour.
It will move west northwest at 24 km per hour with estimated rainfall amount from 7.5 to 15 mm per hour (moderate to heavy) within its 300 km diameter.
Mario is expected to be at 340 km east of Virac, Catanduanes by Thursday afternoon, September 18, at 360 km east of Aparri, Cagayan by Friday afternoon, September 19, and at 660 km northeast of Basco, Batanes by Saturday afternoon, September 20.  
In its 5 pm weather bulletin on Wednesday, PAGASA said Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao region will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Coastal seas will be moderate to rough as moderate to strong winds blow from the northeast to northwest over Luzon. Elsewhere, they will be slight to moderate as light to moderate winds blow from the northwest to southwest.
