LPA nears Northern Samar

MANILA, Philippines – The low pressure area (LPA) earlier spotted by state weather bureau PAGASA has moved closer to Northern Samar. 

As of 4 pm Wednesday, July 1, the LPA was located 575 km east of Northern Samar. It is embedded along the intertropical convergence zone that is affecting Visayas and Mindanao.  

Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, and the provinces of Mindoro and Palawan will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms on Thursday, July 2.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms.

Coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate as light to moderate winds blow from the southwest.
