IN PHOTOS: #MarioPH drenches Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines – Heavy rainfall battered Metro Manila and parts of Luzon as Tropical Storm Mario (Fung-Wong) made landfall over the northern tip of Cagayan on Friday, September 19.

The downpour drenched Metro Manila from the wee hours of the morning until sundown, prompting netizens to recall Tropical Storm Ondoy, which caught Metro Manila off guard in 2009.

Floods – some reaching the roofs of single storey houses – still engulfed parts of Manila on Friday, claiming the life of a two-year-old girl in Quezon City, but it seemed everyone was more alert and knew what to expect this time around.
