MANILA, Philippines – The Light Rail Transit Line 1’s (LRT1) Quirino station will be closed on certain hours during Pope Francis’ visit from January 15 to 19, the government announced Monday, January 12.

The Quirino station will observe the following schedule:

January 15 (Thursday)

  • 5:00 am – 4:00 pm: All stations open
  • 4:00 pm – 10:00 pm: Quirino station closed 

January 16 (Friday) 

  • 5:00 am – 10:00 pm: Quirino station closed 

January 17 (Saturday)

  • 5:00 am – 9:00 am: Quirino station closed
  • 9:00 am – 5:00 pm: All stations open
  • 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm: Quirino station closed 

January 18 (Sunday)

  • 5:00 am – 10:00 pm: Quirino station closed 

January 19 (Monday)

  • 5:00 am – 9:00 am: Quirino station closed
  • 9:00 am – 10:00 pm: All stations open

The Quirino station is located close to the Apostolic Nunciature where the Pope will be billeted during his 5-day visit.

Portions of roads leading to the Apostolic Nunciature will also be closed during Pope Francis’ visit. – Rappler.com
