WATCH: How Uber got suspended and why it matters

MANILA, Philippines – Uber is finally back.

On Tuesday, August 29, Uber paid a hefty fine to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to lift its one-month suspension.

The transport network company (TNC) paid a P190-million fine or $3.7 million for it to operate again, about two weeks in.

But while Uber drivers are again on the road, it is only a short-term solution to a long-time problem faced by the country.
