There’s so many reasons why people might not want to get vaccinated so I think that it’s hard to define what would be the correct or best type of messaging, but I think one important thing to do is to really go out there and talk to people. It’s not coming from nowhere ang approach na ito. For example, ang World Health Organization, it’s in their website [on] how to tackle vaccine hesitancy. You need to talk to people. You need to have those conversations and you need to accept, for example, it might not be a one-time conversation. It will be an ongoing conversation that you need to have and it can take really long but at the end of the day, it’s really worth the effort. If I can convince you to do it, somebody who’s hesitant, maybe that person will go on to convince somebody else. Interestingly enough, we’re already seeing that happening in the Philippines… There’s one survey done by Pulse Asia months ago that asked what would change your mind. And one thing is seeing other people they know get vaccinated and them being okay and safe afterwards, and them sharing their story na “hey look I got vaccinated, everything was okay, I’m fine.” That was one factor that really got people to say, “okay fine I’ll get vaccinated.” It wasn’t the kind of messaging that said you have to get vaccinated or you can’t go out of your house, or I’ll vaccinate you when you’re asleep kind of thing. That’s not the kind of messaging that people respond to.
