MANILA, Philippines – There wasn’t a dry eye in the house – whether it was tears of joy and relief, or tears of sorrow and sentimentality.

The De La Salle Lady Spikers defeated the Ateneo Lady Eagles in Game 3 of the UAAP Season 78 women’s volleyball finals to take home their 9th championship trophy.

The Lady Spikers finally took down the Lady Eagles after losing in back-to-back finals series the past two years.

There were smiles, hugs, celebrations and tears of joy among those in green. But there were also tears, heartbreak and gratefulness for those in blue. (SEE: Netizens pay tribute to graduating stars after La Salle-Ateneo UAAP Finals)
