MANILA, Philippines – The Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors finished their first season with a second Shakey’s V-League title after downing Bureau of Customs Transformers in 4 sets to wrap up the Reinforced Conference finals by scores of 25-14, 25-10, 22-25, 25-23 on Monday, November 14 at PhilSports Arena.
The Lady Warriors had earlier won the Open Conference title in July.
Bre Mackie, the Lady Warriors’ American import, led the team with 23 points on 21 kills while Ohio State alum Andrea Kacsits scored 14. Among locals, Michele Gumabao scored 14, Myla Pablo contributed 13 and Desiree Dadang turned in 7 for the winning side.
In a losing effort, BOC’s Thai import Som Kuthaisong scored 32 while Alyssa Valdez, who won her record 3rd V-League Most Valuable Player award earlier in the day, scored 10. – Rappler.com
