
MANILA, Philippines – Filipino fighter Jenel Lausa had a triumphant UFC debut after he defeated Chinese foe Yao Zhikui via unanimous decision in the flyweight bout undercard of UFC Fight Night 101 in Melbourne, Australia on Sunday, November 27.
Lausa, 28, dominated Yao through 3 rounds and gained all 30-27 tallies from the judges’ scorecards.

Lausa improved his career record to 7-2.
“I want to thank all of my family, my wife and son, my team, my fans, everyone who has always supported me in the Philippines and around the world, I am especially thankful to God for this blessing,” said Lausa. “This win is going to be the first of many and I hope to get more blessings, more fights and hopefully I will eventually get to the belt.”
The Concepcion, Iloilo native signed a 20-month exclusive deal with UFC in September and was supposed to debut on home soil at UFC Fight Night Manila 2 in October. But the event was canceled after losing its main event. – Rappler.com
