MANILA, Philippines – The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters moved up to 2-0 after blasting the Mahindra Floodbuster, 105-83, in the 2017 PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday, November 30, at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Veteran James Yap debuted for Rain or Shine with 10 points, 3 rebounds, and two assists as he played for 14 minutes with his new team after sitting out the first game as he recovered from knee surgery.

The Painters buried 18 triples in the game that allowed to build a 49-point bulge early on. But the Floodbuster recovered, going on a huge 20-0 rally in the fourth quarter, a franchise-best run, to cut the deficit to 22.

Alex Mallari, Philip Paniamogan, and Russel Escoto paced Mahindra with 10 points apiece. The Floodbuster team lost two straight games to start the season.

Veteran shooter Gary David also made his debut for Mahindra after signing with the team this week. – Rappler.com
