Rain or Shine rallies from 17 points down

MANILA, Philippines – The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters overturned a 17-point lead for a come-from-behind 96-94 victory over the Phoenix Fuel Masters on Wednesday, April 12, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Jeff Chan sizzled for 24 points off the bench with 4 rebounds while import Shawn Taggart had 20 markers, 17 rebounds, and 5 assists. Jericho Cruz contributed 11 points as the Painters improved to a 4-2 record.

Rain or Shine rallied from a 16-point deficit in the fourth quarter as Chan scored his side’s last 4 points to take the lead for good from Phoenix.

Chan first scored on a drive plus the bonus with 7.7 seconds on the clock before following that up with a split from the line for the final tally.

Jameel McKay led the Fuel Masters with 27 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists, and two blocks.

Gelo Alolino and Matthew Wright added 14 and 12 markers, respectively, while JC Intal finished with 11 points and 5 boards.

Phoenix dropped to a 2-4 record.
