San Miguel rises to 5-0 after trouncing Rain or Shine
The Beermen maintain their sparkling 5-0 record, while the Painters find themselves with a 4-3 record

MANILA, Philippines – Charles Rhodes bucked foul trouble and uncorked 26 points and grabbed 6 rebounds to lead the San Miguel Beermen to a 111-98 win over the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Saturday, April 22 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Beermen maintained their sparkling 5-0 record as Gabby Espinas contributed 15 points – 10 of which he poured in the fourth as San Miguel pulled away – along with 8 boards, 4 assists, and two steals in the victory.

June Mar Fajardo tallied 14 markers and 8 boards while Alex Cabagnot once again came close to a triple-double with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, and two steals.

Arwind Santos and Marcio Lassiter had 13 and 12 points, respectively, as Chris Ross settled with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, two steals, and a block.

Rain or Shine got a double-double of 24 points plus 10 rebounds from import Shawn Taggart as well as a combined 32 points from gunners Jeff Chan and Maverick Ahanmisi.

James Yap and Jericho Cruz registered 13 and 11 points, respectively, but the Painters still find themselves with a 4-3 record.
