Warriors coach Steve Kerr may miss rest of postseason

OAKLAND, USA – Steve Kerr said Sunday, April 23 (Monday in Manila) he would be unable to coach the Golden State Warriors playoff game on Monday and could be done for the remainder of the postseason.

Kerr, who underwent multiple back surgeries two years ago, will not be on the sidelines for game 4 of the Warriors’s first-round playoff series against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Kerr’s recent symptoms include severe headaches, neck pain and nausea.

“This is not going to be a case where I’m coaching one night, not coaching the next. I’m not going to do that to our team, our staff,” Kerr said Sunday.

Kerr then said there is a chance he might not return this season.

“He’s obviously going through a lot physically and that’s first and foremost for him to take care of himself, make sure he’s on the road to recovery and feeling like himself,” Warriors guard Stephen Curry said.

Kerr was not on the sidelines for the Warriors’s 119-113 victory on Saturday that gave them a 3-0 series lead. Assistant Mike Brown acted as head coach and will do the same on Monday. – Rappler.com
