NLEX finally arrests slump against Alaska
This is NLEX's first win since January

MANILA, Philippines –  The NLEX Road Warriors finally snapped a 4-month long losing streak with a 100-92 victory over the Alaska Aces in the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Wednesday, May 24 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Road Warriors had lost 9 consecutive games this conference before the win and it was a total of 13 games since January 7, dating back to the season-opening Philippine Cup.

Import Wayne Chism posted 22 points and 6 rebounds while guard Juami Tiongson contributed 16 markers, 5 boards, and 4 assists.

JR Quiñahan also had 16 points with 7 rebounds while Kevin Alas chipped in 11 markers for the already eliminated Road Warriors, who overcame a 20-point deficit thanks to a huge 33-13 second quarter that evened out a lackluster opening period.

Cory Jefferson paced the Aces with 36 points and 20 rebounds while Vic Manuel and Calvin Abueva registered 17 and 12 points, respectively. Abueva also tracked down 9 rebounds.

JVee Casio had 10 points as Alaska dropped its fifth straight game for a 4-5 record.
