MANILA, Philippines – After finishing in 6th place in the 2015 Southeast Asian Games, Philippines is hoping to bag a higher spot in the 29th SEA Games which is bound to happen on August 15 to 30 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
With roughly 600 athletes and 100 coaches, Philippines is looking forward to clinch at least 50 gold medals according to chef de mission Cynthia Carrion.
Aside from basketball, volleyball and football, Carrion said she is also expecting medals from sports like pentaque, archery, and aquatics.
Despite starting in August 15, the 3-week multi-sporting event will have its official opening ceremonies on August 19 at 8 pm. (SCHEDULE: 2017 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
