MANILA, Philippines – Gilas Pilipinas came, they saw, and they conquered the host nation.
In front of a wildly passionate crowd, the Philippine national men’s basketball team overcame a slow start and first quarter deficit to thoroughly trounce Malaysia in the final group stage game of the 2017 Southeast Asian Games.
After all of the tension which resulted in Carl Bryan Cruz and Baser Amer being thrown out, Gilas still ended up on top by a lot, 98-66, to build on its momentum heading into the next round.
