Orcollo, Kiamco bow out in semis, take bronze in men’s 9-ball doubles

MANILA, Philippines－ Event favorites Dennis Orcollo and Warren Kiamco bowed out of the gold medal race in the 29th Southeast Asian Games men’s 9-ball doubles event after succumbing to Singapore’s Alosyius Yapp and Tan Lian Han on Wednesday, August 23,at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center in Malaysia.

The PH duo marched straight to the semis after beating the host country Malaysia, 9-6, in the earlier round, but slammed into an upset at the hands of their Singapore counterparts.

Orcollo and Kiamco cruised to a 3-0 lead to start the match, but Yapp and Han bounced back in the following racks to wrap it up at 6-3.

Kiamco had claimed the gold in the same event back in the 2015 Singapore Games, where he teamed up with Carlo Biado. – Rappler.com
