Adamson ends UE’s two-game winning streak
The Adamson Falcons' balanced team effort overpowers the UE Red Warriors

MANILA, Philippines – The Adamson Falcons bounce back from a loss to Ateneo by besting the Red Warriors, 66-57, on Wednesday, October 18 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Adamson Falcons’ balanced team effort overpowered the Red Warriors, who entered the match with a mathematical chance of making it to the final four playoffs. The UE team cooled down from their two-game winning streak, as they got back to relying on stalwart Alvin Pasaol

The game tipped off to a neck-and-neck battle between both teams, but the Falcons’ late 7-2 run towards the end of the first allowed Adamson to pin down the lead.

Pasaol continued to power his team in the following quarter to get within two points, but Jerie Pingoy’s triple in the last play of the second period further expanded Adamson’s cushion.

Scoring troubles continued to plague the Red Warriors without Pasaol on the court in the second half. The Red Warriors were able to close in again on the Falcons during the third, but Adamson pulled away again with a 5-0 run.

The Falcons also finally garnered their biggest lead of 11 points in the final frame, as they capitalized on the Red Warriors’ inability to convert on their end.

Jerrick Ahanmisi topscored for the Falcons with 14 points and made 3 assists and 2 steals. Papi Sarr who contributed 6 points early in the game, registered another double-double of 12 points and 15 boards.

Pasaol put up a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds, while making 2 assists and 2 steals for the Red Warriors. Mark Olayon followed as the only other player in the Red Warriors’ rotation who contributed double digits with 16 points, 3 boards, 5 assists and 2 steals.

This wins puts the Adamson Falcons at a 6-3, record, while the Red Warriors fall to a 2-7 record.
