MANILA, Philippines – Dan Angelo Wong, older brother of Blue Eagle Adrian Wong shot the lights out to nab the first-ever UAAP JBL 3-point Shootout.
In front of a large Ateneo crowd waiting to watch the undefeated Blue Eagles face the FEU Tamaraws, Wong bested 7 other representatives from different UAAP schools in the first round with 22 points. UE’s Mark Maloles came in second with 18 points after a tiebreaker that put him ahead of Adamson star guard Jerrick Ahanmisi, who also had 18. Maloles reached the 18 mark faster, giving him the nod for the final round.
