MANILA, Philippines – BanKo Perlas turned back Iriga-Navy in a 5-set thriller, 25-17, 23-25, 28-26, 22-25, 15-12, to secure at least a playoff for one of the last two semi-final berths in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Season 2 Reinforced Conference on Wednesday, June 20, at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.
The Perlas Spikers stayed unbeaten in 3 games in the single-round quarterfinals while booting out the Lady Dragons, who fell to 1-3.
In a forceful attacking display, Thai import Jutarat Montripila unleashed 37 points and Lakia Bright also had 24 points for the Perlas Spikers.
“Sabi ko nga, import torunament ito so anytime na gumanda laro ng import, hindi ka pwedeng mag-relax,” said Perlas coach Ariel Dela Cruz
(As I said, it’s an import tournament so anytime their performance gets better, you can’t relax.)
