MANILA, Philippines – The Ateneo Blue Eagles are one win away from their second straight title, but the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons are not giving up without a good fight on Wednesday, December 5, 3:30pm at the Araneta Coliseum.
The defending champions lead the best-of-three Finals series after taking the first game, 88-79.
But before Ateneo pulled away in the last 3 minutes of the game, the Fighting Maroons were a threat to their elite brand of defense as Jun Manzo erupted for a season-high of 19 points.
Heading into a crucial Game 2 of the epic Battle of Katipunan finals, both teams are expected to come out hungrier, but only one will prevail.
