MANILA, Philippines — They’re looking more and more like 5-peat champions.

Ateneo de Manila University flaunted its championship form in crushing Far Eastern University, 92-73, in the 76th UAAP men’s basketball tournament Wednesday, August 28 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

What was expected to be a close game turned into a snoozefest as the Blue Eagles attacked the Tamaraws from the get-go and never relented, burying the Tamaraws to as deep as a 33-point hole to book their 5th straight win and 6th in 10 games.

Juami Tiongson established his career-high with 20 points while Kiefer Ravena delivered 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for 6-peat-seeking Ateneo.

On the other hand, FEU fell to its 3rd loss in the last 4 outings but remained atop the standings with an 8-3 record.

Terrence Romeo top scored for the Morayta-based squad with 19 points but just made 7 of 24 shot attempts.
