MANILA, Philippines — UAAP Commissioner Chito Loyzaga confirmed the suspension of De La Salle University’s Thomas Torres and University of the East’s Charles Mammie and Lord Casajeros on Wednesday, August 28 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Both Mammie and Casajeros will face two-game suspensions each after incurring a total of 3 unsportsmanlike fouls this season.

On the other hand, Torres will suffer a one-game suspension after hitting Sam Marata of the University of the Philippines.

“All players should play in the spirit of the game,” said Loyzaga.

According to the commissioner who reviews videotapes of every game, the parties involved are free to file an appeal to the UAAP Technical Committee.

Loyzaga, though, stands firm on his decision: “That’s the decision I came up with and I’ll stand by it.” – Rappler.com
