UST ends drought with win over Adamson
UST beats Adamson for its 5th win in UAAP Season 76.

MANILA, Philippines — University of Santo Tomas finally snapped out of a funk with a 80-67 win over Adamson University in the 76th UAAP men’s basketball tournament on Wednesday, August 28 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Aljon Mariano and Ed Daquioag starred in a 4th quarter breakaway for the Growling Tigers, combining for 16 of UST’s 29 points as they ended a 3-game losing streak.

Karim Abdul posted 19 points, hauled down 12 rebounds and had 4 blocks for the Tigers, who evened their record at 5-5 but still sat at 6th place.

Daquioag finished with a season-high 17 points, 5 rebounds and two steals while Mariano added 16 points, 8 boards and 5 assists. 

On the other hand, the Soaring Falcons suffered their 6th consecutive defeat and remained at 7th with a 3-8 record, virtually kissing their Final 4 hopes goodbye. –
