Talk 'N Text continues their title defense after edging Barako Bull in game 5 of their semis match.

MANILA, Philippines – The series was closer than most expected but Talk ‘N Text still emerged as victors as they hold the fort and take game 5 of their semifinals series vs. Barako Bull, 101-90.

Ranidel De Ocampo and Jimmy Alapag both came out big in the clutch for the Texters. Alapag hit a 3-pointer with over three minutes left to play pushing Talk ‘N Text’s lead to eight, 92-84.

Barako’s Ronald Tubid made back-to-back baskets that narrowed the lead down to four but De Ocampo took the energy out of the Barako Bull when he made a 4-point play late in the game.

Both imports played well. Barako’s Gabe Freeman filled up the stat sheet with 22 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals but the Texters got a bigger boost from Donnell Harvey tallying 29 points, grabbing 14 rebounds, and swiping 3 steals.

Danny Seigle again came up with a dynamite performance scoring 21 points for his team to go with 7 boards and 1 assist.

“It’s always a special feeling to get to the finals,” said Talk ‘N Text Coach Chot Reyes who will be making his 15th overall Finals appearance.

The Texters will defend their Commissioner’s Cup title against the B-MEG Llamados, headed by Tim Cone and James Yap, on Monday, April 23, at the Big Dome. – Rappler.com
