MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine National Football team trooped to the pitch against a tough opponent – the United Arab Emirates on Saturday, Nov 9.
Despite facing a much higher ranked squad, the Azkals fielded some players from their under-23 squad, who will be missing some much needed action after the Philippine Olympic Committee ironically decided not to field the Azkals’ U23 squad in the South East Asian Games in Myanmar this December.
The team still had some firepower with old reliables Phil and James Younghusband, Chieffy Caligdong, Chris Greatwich and Angel Guirado suiting up for the team, but failed to score a single goal.
