Bowles leads B-MEG to 2-1 series edge over Talk 'N Text in PBA Finals
MANILA, Philippines - Denzel Bowles made basket after basket late in the game to push the B-MEG Llamados to a 91-87 victory in game three of the PBA Finals and gain a 2-1 series edge over the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters.
Bowles kept the Llamados in the game but it was a 3-point basket from James Yap at the 4:53 mark of the 4th quarter that gave the Llamados the lead at, 79-77.
James Yap missed 2 free throws with under a minute left. The Texters grabbed the rebound and Jayson 'The Blur' Castro rushed down the floor and was fouled on his way to the basket. Castro made both foul shots to put the game at 88-84.
Reigning MVP Jimmy Alapag drew a foul from Bowles on a 3-point land but 'The Mighty Mouse' made only one out of three free throws with only 4.9 seconds left in the game.
Bowles fouled on that play but was awarded best player of the game finishing with 28 points, 13 rebounds, and six blocks.
Ryan Reyes and Donnell Harvey led the charge for the Texters scoring 21 points apiece.
Tim Cone said there's still some unfamiliarity with his squad but added that, "it means we have room to grow and get better."
