In the 93rd minute, Atletico Madrid seemed to have the Champions League title wrapped up in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon on Saturday night (Sunday morning PH time). Leading 1-nil after a Diego Godin goal in the first half, Atletico had Real Madrid appearing desperate as they pushed in a last ditch attempt to score the equalizer.

Christmas came early from Real when a Sergio Ramos header sailed through the net to tie the game at 1-1. In extra time, the fresher Real Madrid found the net repetedly as Marcelo, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo scored three in a row to hand Real its tenth European Cup title.
