LG Sakers defeat Ginebra in ‘Asian Basketball Showdown’

MANILA, Philippines – The Changwon LG Sakers prevailed in the “Asian Basketball Showdown” by outlasting the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, 81-76, on Tuesday evening, September 9, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. 

Leading the Korean side was import Christopher Massie, who finished with 24 points and 14 rebounds, while Ki Seung Ho pitched in 21 markers.  

Kim Si Rae also contributed by registering 13 markers. 

Greg Slaughter had 23 markers and 12 boards to lead Ginebra, who also got a combined 26 points from Mac Bacarael and Chris Ellis. 

Gilas cagers Japeth Aguilar and LA Tenorio made it back from Spain in time for the game, but didn’t suit up for the Gin Kings.
