MANILA, Philippines – The UP Lady Maroons scored an upset against the UST Tigresses in four sets, 26-24, 23-25, 25-20, 25-17, to earn their first win in UAAP Season 77 women’s volleyball tournament on Wednesday, December 3, at The Arena in San Juan City.
Nicole Tiamzon led University of the Philippines with 19 points, while Kathy Bersola put up 16.
UP won a close first set, 26-24, and was ahead 23-19 late in the second set before squandering their lead to UST, who rallied behind star rookie EJ Laure.
