MANILA, Philippines- Ton talks to Coach Kirby Martin of CrossfitMNL to know more about Crossfit training.
According to Coach Kirby, Crossfit is a form of exercise that is high intensity, with functional movements that can be adjusted and shaped to get you the results that you want.
When asked about the goals of people who get into Crossfit, Coach Kirby says, “Generally, people’s goals when they come in is to get cuts, have abs. What you realize soon is that it’s not about the way you look, it’s more about the way you perform.”
Here are 3) benefits you can get from Crossfit:
- Crossfit combines all the benefits you get from multiple training. It includes Olympic weight lifting, power lifting, gymnastics, body weight and cardio exercises. It does not specialize on one type of activity, but it helps you to be able to do all kinds of body exercises at a prescribed time.
- It helps people move properly. Sitting down a lot can limit the movement of our hips, and working in front of the computer all day can badly affect our shoulders. Doing functional movements in Crossfit can help loosen up tight muscles and help people move naturally.
- You can meet new people and be yourself. Training with other people does not necessarily mean competing with each other. In the Crossfit community, it is ok to walk in the door and not be the best person in the class. Just come in, be willing to learn different movements, give your best effort, and take the time to do the movements properly. - Rappler.com
