PBA cancels South Cotabato game after Mamasapano clash
The game between the Alaska Aces and NLEX Road Warriors on Saturday, February 7 in Polomolok, South Cotabato has been cancelled

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Basketball Association cancelled a scheduled out-of-town 2015 Commissioner’s Cup game on Saturday, February 7 in South Cotabato due to the recent Special Action Force – Moro Islamic Liberation Front clash in Mamasapano town, Maguindanao and continuing tensions in the region.

“In light of the recent encounter between police commando and separatist forces in Maguindanao, as well as the heightened security risks and threats posed by continuing insurgent activities in proximate areas, the Office of the Commissioner deems it prudent to cancel the PBA game scheduled in South Cotabato on Feb 7, 2015,” the league announced on Monday, February 2 through PBA Media Bureau Chief Willie Marcial.

Philippine Cup runner-up Alaska Aces was supposed to take on the NLEX Road Warriors.

The match will instead take place at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan on the same date Saturday, February 7 at 5PM. – Rappler.com
